  • Description

If you are looking for luxurious comfort in the Smokies, Everview is the right match. Fall is one of the best seasons to visit the Smoky Mountains and ski season is almost upon us. Our spacious mountain home is located just 20 miles from Cataloochee Ski Resort with its Kids Ski Free program. Or if you just enjoy sitting by a cozy fireplace, you can do that, too. In fact, we have two fireplaces for our guests to enjoy. Two master bedrooms as well with restful king sized beds and the softest sheets you will ever find.

Our spacious two story home is easily accessible and close to area attractions and activities. Leave your worries behind and come to our contemporary, country cabin appropriately named Everview to gaze at all of the beauty and tranquility the mountains of Western North Carolina have to offer. Our front and back decks allow for gazing at the sunrise with your morning coffee and then relaxing on our back rockers in the evening as the sun sets over the mountains.

You do not need a four wheel drive as you make your way from the main highway to the road leading to Everview where you will feel your stresses begin to melt away. You will drive along rolling and easily accessible paved pastoral farmland while you gaze at horses and cows dotting the landscape.

Our home is perfectly situated in a small, peaceful gated community on a mountain ridge at an elevation of 2700 feet which allows for 360 degree long range views of the Smokies. You have your choice of the front deck or the expansive back decks from which to sit back on our rocking chairs and pass the time away.

Everview is spacious enough for eight guests allowing for groups of friends, families and extended families to vacation together. Yet it is cozy enough for couples, too. Everything you need to spend your time away from home is included in our well-stocked home. We do our best to supply our cabin for guests the way we would like it equipped ourselves. Provided are many things that other cabins in the area do not such as: cleaning products, trash bags, dish soap, dishwashing tablets, laundry supplies, spices, condiments, etc.

And if you are traveling with little ones, do not worry about packing a bulky playpen or high chair. We have those available for you along with plastic dinnerware and utensils. A safety gate is also provided to use at the staircase.

MAIN LEVEL ENTRY - As you arrive into our quiet, gated community, you will first encounter our front deck which lets you gaze for miles at the mountain ranges in the distance. Enter through the front door and the hallway leads to your first glimpse of our open concept living area.

LIVING/DINING AREA - Sink into our comfortable leather reclining sofa or love seat and take in expansive views of the mountains through our double French doors, a 46 inch HDTV, and a large stone gas fireplace (no wood & no fuss). I would like to mention that you will have access to a library of DVDs as well as streaming programming on Netflix, Hulu, YouTube to name a few, ideal for the family time around the fireplaces. Free wi-fi is available throughout the house as well.

Step outside the doors to a sprawling covered upper deck and spend hours on the rockers soaking it all in. This is where you will find us most of the time when we have the opportunity to get away. We should also mention that this is not just a rental--we enjoy our home a lot ourselves too! I will be the one in the rocker reading a good book while my husband, Angus is grilling the steaks on the gas grill. Sorry, Angus is not included with the cabin but he does leave all the utensils so you can prepare your own barbeque!

Enjoy your meals outside or in our dining room adjacent to the kitchen. The table seats six comfortably and there are stools around the kitchen island for additional seating.

KITCHEN - Our fully equipped kitchen with stone countertops and wood cabinetry. Even though there is no shortage of wonderful eating establishments in the area, one of the best features of a vacation rental is the ability to prepare your own meals and the flexibility to eat at your own pace. Plenty of dinnerware on hand as well as small appliances like a blender for mixing your favorite drinks and a crock pot so that you can arrive home after a long day of sightseeing to a nice warm meal. There will be a starter set of coffee and tea for you in case you get in too late to go grocery shopping.

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS - All linens are supplied. They include luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets which support the all-around feeling of comfort you will experience at Everview and our exceptionally soft, plump, oversized 100% cotton towels offer the ultimate drying experience. We have also included a starter supply of toiletries and paper products so that you do nt have to rush and unpack as soon as you arrive. No need to pack the hair dryers, either as there is one available for use in two of the bathrooms.

1st MASTER BEDROOM - On the main level, you will find one of our expansive master bedroom. It features a comfortable king size bed, two night stands with reading lamps, a leather reading/lounge chair, ceiling fan and a 40 inch flat screen HDTV. This bedroom also has access to the back deck through another set of French doors. You will not want to rush out of bed in the morning when you open the drapes to capture the beauty just beyond the glass.

The attached master bath is just as lovely as the bedroom with an oversized shower and double sinks. The walk-in closet provides plenty of storage for everything you bring with you, including a safe to store your valuables.

2nd KING MASTER BEDROOM - Also on the main level, you will find a second master bedroom. It is located on the opposite side of the house for maximum privacy. It features a king size bed, a night stand and a reading light, ceiling fan, walk-in closet and HDTV. The view out the window is to the neighboring farm where you will often see his horses grazing.

The bathroom is easily accessible from the hall and features a tub/shower combination. This section of the house can be closed off from the rest of the main level to ensure total privacy.

LAUNDRY ROOM - In case you need to get your clothing washed before you get home, we have a full-size laundry room with a drop-down ironing board and iron. We supply you with laundry and cleaning products during your stay.

DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY/GAME ROOM - Head downstairs to an additional family room which allows for a separate living area when traveling in groups and/or with children. Plenty of games, books and toys available to keep everyone entertained. Another HDTV and fireplace are located here, so there is no chance anyone should be jealous of the upstairs. The French doors lead to the back lower deck. The children can run around and play in the yard while parents relax nearby.

TEEN SUITE - Bedroom #3 is great for teenagers or even another couple. It features a queen-size bed, dresser and walk-in closet. We understand that even though you will be on vacation, you may still need to communicate with your job or could use certain printed materials, so there is also a desk with a printer that you can use to keep your boss happy.

CHILDRENS BEDROOM - This room features two twin beds and is adjacent to the full bathroom and downstairs family room which has plenty of games, books, and toys to keep them entertained.

Another full bathroom with a walk-in shower is located here and serves the two downstairs bedrooms and family room.

UPPER & LOWER DECKS – The best features of our home, I believe, are the expansive front and back decks. You have your choice of watching the sun rise in the morning from the front and then setting in the evening from either of the two back decks. Our six person hot tub also allows you to take in the relaxing views while soaking in its warmth. Many guests find that our home itself is worth the trip to the mountains.

There is so much more that I can add, but why not check it out yourself? While the house itself is a great place to vacation, there is no lack of activities and attractions nearby. We are located just outside of Waynesville, and many popular sights are just a short drive away.

There are plenty of great restaurants we can recommend from good old country fixins to impressive gourmet meals. Even if you are still looking, just send me an inquiry and I will provide you with a travel guide I have put together which features our favorite attractions/activities and dining options to help with your vacation plans.

My husband and I own and personally manage Everview and are willing to offer assistance in answering any questions about our home or the area. Check out the many wonderful reviews left by our guests. Many are repeat customers.

Take advantage of this great opportunity to experience a wonderful mountain getaway at Everview where you will find a magnificent balance between adventure and tranquility.

7 of us enjoyed a girls weekend at Everview. The cabin is very nice with plenty of room. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the large balcony. it's a little more of a drive to Ashville than I thought but still worth it. Will stay here again if we are coming to this area.

Owner Response: Hi Lisa, Glad you enjoyed your stay at Everview. One of the great features of our home for guests who want to get out and explore the area is that even though you are in a rural setting, it is just a few minutes away to I-40 with easy access to Asheville and many other exciting locations. We hope you will be able to come back soon and take in more of what Everview has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay at Everview. The group that stayed varied from two people and one dog to six people and two dogs. The house is plenty large enough and with two master BR on the main floor and two BR downstairs, there is plenty of privacy as well. Communication with Marilyn was excellent and she was very accommodating. Would highly recommend this vacation home.

Owner Response: Thank you, Linda, for your wonderful review. We're so happy your trip went well and that you got to spend some time with family and friends. The two master bedrooms set us apart from many other similar homes and it offers privacy for travelers yet the open concept main floor is great for getting together. We hope to hear from you soon as you are welcome back anytime.

    • Beautiful home but some issues

Reviewed by Anonymous from Campbellsville, Ky on July 01, 2017 for their trip during June 2017

We were thrilled when we pulled up to the front done of this home. It is a beautiful home BUT there were somethings I was so disappointed with. When we tried to go out on the deck the frenchdoors are DIFFICULT TO OPEN. . . . couldn't get one open at all. Both screen doors on the deck were totally off the tracks and you couldn't use them. Also this is a home for 8 people. There were hardly any towels and wash cloths. If we hadn't taken some with us we would have had to go out and buy some. Ridiculous. I was so disappointed. BUT the one thing that bothered me the most was when I read the checkout instructions it said it would be a great help to the clean up person if we removed the sheets off the beds we used AS THIS WOULD ENSURE CLEAN BEDS FOR THE NEXT GUESTS! I read that the first day and I worried that the person before us did not remove the sheets and the cleanup person did not clean them. It really upset my senior citizens ladies when I read that PLUS we paid $120 for cleaning fee. We pulled the sheets and towels we used and put them in the laundry room so that the next guests would be sure to have clean beds. It is a beautiful home but the doors need to be repaired and towels and wash cloths need to be replenished. There were not dish towels or dishrags at all.

Owner Response: Dear Teresa, I’m sorry that we did not live up to your expectations during your stay. We provide all guests with several means of contact including a sign on the refrigerator should any issue arise. Unfortunately, you decided not to reach out to me or these concerns could have been mitigated and misconceptions avoided. Regarding the French doors/screens, we are now searching for a fourth company to make the necessary repairs to the screens. Prior guests have walked right into them and bent the tracks. The first three companies have failed to keep appointments or provide me with an estimate. I was not aware that the doors were difficult to open until now, but will have those looked at as well. Thank you for pointing that out and we will make sure to advise all future guests prior to check-in until repairs are made. We keep an inventory of all items and make replacements as needed for all supplies. Our current count is 16 bath towels, 8 hand towels, and 8 washcloths. Plus, if you use the hot tub, there are additional towels available in the box right next to it. Your reservation was for a 3-night stay with seven guests and that quantity has proven to be more than adequate for my prior rentals. We also have a drawerful of dishtowels and dishrags for your use. Perhaps you didn’t search all the drawers as they are kept in one located in the kitchen island. Again, a quick phone call or text would have allowed me to direct you to it. The one thing I would like to stress more than anything is that cleanliness is our utmost priority and our housekeeping team does a tremendous job in ensuring that it meets our standards. You can be absolutely assured that all bed linens are washed after each rental. The reason we asked to start one load of towels or sheets is that since most of our rentals are back to back, waiting on the washer/dryer to finish their cycles caused delays for the arriving guests. The checkout details state that it is to “ensure that the house is ready for the next guests,” NOT to ensure clean beds as you have erroneously pointed out. Our new washer/dryer set runs more efficiently. It was our error and I apologize for not updating the checkout instructions to remove the request to start the first load. Our home is beautiful and we have been happy to offer it to many satisfied guests in the past few years. We’re sorry we didn’t please you 100%, but hopefully you’ll give us another chance soon to make it up to you.

We rented this cabin for the weekend with a group of friends and had a wonderful time touring around the mountains of NC, enjoying the beautiful scenery and great food. This cabin was by far one of the nicest we have stayed in for the price, welcoming and "user friendly"- for example all the light switches were labeled, which was VERY helpful! It was also nice to not have 14 hoops to jump through for check out. The owners seem to genuinely care that their guests are happy. Thank you so much, to Angus and Marilyn, we will definitely rent from you again!

Just got home a few days ago from a week at your beautiful home. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. This home is everything a large family (or 2) could want in a place to stay in Western North Carolina. Between the Apple Tree in the backyard, the 5 horses just behind, fireflies at night for the kids to chase, cows (and I'm pretty sure a black bear) seen far in the distance from the back deck, the home alone is perfect for a getaway. The 8 of us (4 adults, 4 kids) were able to take advantage of everything this home had to offer, including great nights grilling on the back deck before finishing the night with a bottle of wine and some good music sitting on rocking chairs outside staring up at the stars (no light pollution out here!). And convenient to pretty much everything we wanted to do, from seeing the Biltmore mansion, to Pisgah Forest (and the Great Sliding Rock), Cherokee, Maggy Valley, etc. We've never been to North Carolina and this was kind of an "impulse buy" vacation but it was so worth it! We can't wait to come back again soon. Great owner, so accessible, anyone that is thinking of Western North Carolina should spend time at this home (except when we want to stay there again!). Thank you thank you!

Owner Response: Nathaniel - Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are blessed that so many great families have been able to enjoy their stay at our home. It brings us a lot of pleasure and reminds us of when we were kids and spent our vacations catching fireflies and stargazing. We welcome you back anytime.

The property at Everview was very nice. The house was clean and comfortable for 4 adults and two young children. The owners have taken steps for a child friendly rental house. A high chair, gate for the steps, and kids books, games, and DVDs are provided in the house. Nice spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Two bedrooms on main floor, walk in level, and two more on the lower basement level. Very large kitchen and family room area with all you need to cook meals there. A nice propane grill, with spare tank, is on the nice deck. The deck is shaded almost all day, but then you can watch the sunset in the evening from a great vantage point. Horses, cows, and rabbits are abundant near the house and surrounding farms. The property is just off a good paved road about 20 minutes outside of Waynesville. Very quiet and nice one street development on a ridge top. This is a very nice property and the owners are very responsive to questions and check in procedures. I would highly consider a return booking to this property for Waynsesville/Maggie Valley area. Gary H.

My husband and I and some of our extended family rented this property for my brother's wedding. We had a great experience and no complaints whatsoever about the property or the homeowner. Marilyn made everything super easy. The home has beautiful views all the way around and is ideally located about 40 minutes from Asheville. We would definitely go back!

Owner Response: Hi Courtney, Thanks for the wonderful review and we're happy you and your family chose Everview for such a special occasion. You are welcome to return anytime and hopefully spend a few more days enjoying the sights.

We spent a wonderful time with children and grandchildren at beautiful Everview. We have vacationed for many years in the mountains and Everview was our favorite. It had easy access, many conveniences and breathtaking views. Our families were there during a cold and windy period and the house was very comfortable. Everview was well furnished, the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and the kitchen was well stocked. The owners were friendly and readily available if needed. We highly recommend Everview and hope to return.

Owner Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your stay. We're happy to have had the chance to meet you since we were in town to some work on our other vacation home in Maggie Valley. The weather was a little rough those first couple of days, but the beauty of the blooming flowers and milder temperatures that followed more than made up for it. You are wonderful guests. We hope to hear back from you again in the near future.

    • Incredible views...and SUPER clean!

Reviewed by Meg from Greensboro, NC on December 09, 2015 for their trip during December 2015

This property was the perfect setting to get together with two other couples and their families for the weekend. Marilyn and her husband had thought of everything we needed and I mean everything - from a highchair to a baby gate to every kitchen utensil one could need! The house was clean and inviting. I really have no complaints but did want to mention two things that are most likely beyond the owner's control but would be worth considering when booking - 1) temperature: the living room area was toasty and perfect but we found the room temperatures (upstairs and downstairs) to be somewhat challenging to adjust. In our case, we had the fireplace going earlier in the day and so, in the evening, with toddlers sleeping in pack-n-plays in closets, etc - we struggled to control the actual bedroom temps. Had we not run the fireplace in the early evening...we might have found the temperature something that we could easily manage. 2) Trash removal on a Sunday. This property requires trash to be removed and taking to an alternative site on your way out of town. If you don't move it, you can be charged a fee. However, all the sites listed are closed on Sunday. We, thankfully, hadn't accumulated too much but it was one more thing to load up into the car at the end of the weekend and have to get creative about where to dump it. Just something to consider if you are staying through a Sunday. All in all, we loved this place! When a place is clean and the owners have pre-thought the details for you, you really can't ask for more...but in this case, you got more anyway with great views and easy access to nature. Book it...you won't regret it!

Owner Response: Thank you for your wonderful review of our home. I understand the issue you mentioned about the room temperature and that is definitely something beyond our control. Since the main living area has a lot of windows and French doors, the sunlight that streams in helps warm that area up. Also, the fireplace is very efficient and once you turn it on, it gets warmer still making the other rooms feel even cooler. The lower levels are always going to be cooler in mountain homes. There is an additional fireplace downstairs that can be used to help keep that area warm in the winter. As far as the trash, I advise all of my guests who are scheduled to check out on Sunday to please make sure to dispose of as much of it as they can by Saturday as the sites are closed. Please see the email I sent with the check-in instructions. It is in the second paragraph. Mountain homes don't have access to regular trash pick-up. Our housekeeper has a very small car which she uses to transport all of her cleaning supplies and tools leaving no room for trash bags. So that is why we ask all of our guests to discard it before checking out. But that is one inconvenience I gladly welcome for the chance to spend time at Everview. I hope these minor details won't preclude you from staying at Everview again. Any season during the year is a wonderful mountain getaway there and hopefully we can add you to our list of happy returning guests!

This is the best vacation house that we have ever stayed in. The rental is maintained to a very high standard. All the finishes from the kitchen to bathroom are just awesome. The bathrooms are so big and high end and fully stocked. The backyard is another winner. The whole gated community has beautiful landscaping and lawnmowing and maintained amazingly. Our kids had wonderful time playing ball and running outside in the vast sloping backyard with a view of horses right next to it. The house also had a big collection of dvds for both adults and kids. My son was thrilled to see his favorite DVDs of elmo and max ruby. The owner of the rental is a very sweet lady and was very helpful and quick to reply to our e-mails. We definitely would love to come back for our next vacation to this same rental.

Owner Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review! You and your family were a pleasure to deal with. We're so happy to know that we were a hit with your son as well. We appreciate you taking such good care of our home. Please let me know when you're ready to return. Any season at Everview makes for a wonderful mountain getaway.

This was our first time renting Everview and we were not disappointed. This house is as advertised. My wife and I have traveled all over western North Carolina over the years, and we have not seen any better views than what can be seen from Everview Drive. The house was immaculately clean and had everything you could need for a few days away. We enjoyed visiting Waynesville and dined at The Tipping Point Tavern, Bogarts and Angelos. All were fantastic restaurants. We attended the Apple Harvest festival in downtown Waynesville on Saturday and had a blast. I would definitely recommend this house to my family and friends, and we are looking forward to a return trip ourselves.

Owner Response: Thank you for taking the time to share with others the wonderful time you had a Everview. I agree that those are some of the best views around, especially during peak leaf season. Let me know when you're ready to return. We would love to have you become a part of our loyal guests.

This was our second time renting Everview. We spent three weeks in this gorgeous house with the most amazing views! You can't help but relax as you get to the top of the road by the gates and enter into the development as you see the view coming into site! We have a 2 year old daughter. This place is GREAT if you have children! Its a safe area, has the pack n play, high chair and lots of places for them to play! Having the downstairs den was perfect for us as a family as we could sleep in upstairs whilst downstairs could be a playroom! The hot tub was IMMACULATELY clean and felt like we were the first people to ever use it! We loved the ability to drive the cars straight into the large oversize garage and then enter the house from the basement. It made those transfers of a sleeping toddler so much easier late at night! This is a home that we are making great memories in! We've already got a booking in for 2016!

Owner Response: Thank you, Iain, for such a lovely review. We love hosting you and your family. And knowing that you are traveling such a great distance with your child and next year children, we want to make sure you have everything you need without having to pack extra items. Also, so glad your parents will also get to enjoy Everview in 2016. We're hoping it's the start of a great family tradition!

Everview is a beautiful home with breathtaking mountain views. It was very clean and we were amazed at how well equipped it was. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Marilyn (the owner) did such a wonderful job leaving instructions on how to use everything from the tv's (with Directv and Neo TV streaming boxes) to the hot tub. There were plenty of board games, outdoor games and books and movies to keep the whole family busy. We are a family of five with a 3, 8 and 10 year old. They had such an amazing time that they didn't want to leave. We stayed 3 nights, but we could have easily stayed longer. It was so nice to have a baby gate and pack and play crib for our 3 year old. We ate out in a few local restaurants, but eating in was the kids favorite. The kitchen was completely stocked with all of the pots, pans, silverware, dishes, cutting boards, utensils etc... It made cooking just as easy as if we were at home. It was a special treat to sit out on the deck with a bottle of wine and watch the gorgeous sunset behind the mountains followed by a visit from the fireflies. We hope to be able to come back. Until then we have some amazing memories of Everview.

Owner Response: Thank you for your wonderful comments! My family and I try to provide everything we can so that our guests can enjoy their vacation without having to pack or buy items to make their stay complete. You are there to enjoy the mountains and the area's attractions and activities and want to make that as stress-free as possible. You know how to find us when you're ready to return.

They even had zip lock bags for us to pack any left overs for our drive back home. Did I mention the hot tub? It was amazingly clean and was set to right temperature for us to just dive in and forget about everything else. I always used to think, when travelling to any tourist destination, the place where you stay should not matter as long as you have a clean bed, but this place changed my perception and made my trip to Smokies a memorable one.

Owner Response: I'm so glad you found everything you needed and more at our home. My husband and I try to make sure we've provided our guests with the opportunity to enjoy a stress-free stay at Everview. You're welcome back at any time.

8 members of my family stayed very comfortably in this beautiful home for a 2 day weekend. We where in the Waynesville area to attend a wedding. The home is furnished very nicely with all the amenities you would need to enjoy a good nights sleep as well as for cooking. Plus I believe I counted 4 TV's plenty of games, a beautiful Hot Tub, and it is located in a secluded area with a gate. The views of the mountains all around are gorgeous. Marilyn is very easy to work with and went out of her way to make sure we where cared for. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone visiting the Waynesville/Ashville area. We would stay again.

Owner Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Everview. I know you were pressed for time and didn't get to really relax and spend more days enjoying the area sites and the comfort of our home. You are more than welcome to return. My wife and I, along with two other couples, had the most amazing time at this property. The pictures of this house speak for themselves, but don't even begin to do it justice. There was more than enough space for the six of us. Each couple had their own bedroom and private bathroom. There were multiple big screen TV's with DirecTV to watch the games. The massive kitchen opens up to the main living area allowing us to cook and visit at the same time. We had everything we needed, including a grill and, of course, a hot tub. Our host, Marilyn, was nothing short of awesome. From the moment we checked in she made herself available via phone for any questions or concerns. But the best part of this place is the location. It's surrounded by sweeping mountain views in every direction while being a short drive to Asheville, Cherokee Casino, and Cataloochee Ski Area. There are also plenty of gorgeous hiking trails at the nearby Smoky Mountain National Park. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and look forward to staying here again!

Owner Response: Wow! Thank you so much for such a great review. I appreciate you taking the time to write it up so that our future guests know what to expect. I can't wait to get back there myself this spring, sit back on those rockers, and take in the views. Let me know when you're ready to experience Everview again. As soon as we arrived to Everview we felt right at home with a nice cozy feeling. Everything was very clean and inviting. We found everything we could've needed for cooking and plenty of dishes and plates for our group of 7 adults. Fresh clean sheets and towels were available as well We only wished we could've spent more time as we spent most of one day at Cataloochee Resort which was a beautiful drive there and back and not too far either. The views from both sides of the house were beautiful as well (including the beautiful horses we got to see from the back porch) Lots of sitting area so our whole group got to be together the whole time in the upstairs kitchen/living room/ dining area which we enjoyed most of the time. The owners were great! Marilyn stayed in touch with us the whole time and answered any questions we had. Thank you again for our wonderful stay!

Owner Response: We truly appreciate your review of our home. As I mentioned by phone, you should try to come back in the summer or fall when there are even more activities and attractions to experience. Hopefully, you'll be able to stay a little longer and have some down time in the hot tub or just relaxing on the porch rockers. Hope to hear from you again.

One of the neighbors owned horses, so every morning my three year old would wake up run to the porch and start neighing. LOL. My husband and I are adventure seekers so we loved being right on top of this beautiful mountain. We exploded caves and national Parks, Biltmore house (Amazing), and chimney Rock/ Hickory Waterfall (1.6 mile hike round-trip). The driving was a little much with little kids, but manageable. I would recommend renting this house to anyone looking for an adventure or for anyone who just wants to relax and take in the beautiful views. Good Luck and have fun!

We were very happy with Everview. The house was everything we expected and the owners were helpful and friendly. We would stay there again anytime we are in the area. We looked at a number of places in the area and felt that the competitors with lower nightly fees had so many additional fees that it ended up being too close in price to be worth compromising what we wanted. Everview had amazingly comfortable beds, the home was roomy, the kitchen allowed us to cook large, family-style meals. It was just like being a welcome guest in a home. There are games, DVD's, books, and amazing views from the patio. I definitely recommend this house.

Owner Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. We're glad to know that our goal to make you feel right at home succeeded. One of the benefits of vacation rentals is the opportunity for our guests to enjoy not only family dinners, but a place that is spacious enough for all to get together and spend their vacation time enjoying activities they normally don't get to do at home. I appreciate you taking good care of our home and we look forward to having you as one of our repeat guests.

Believe every word you read in the reviews! Our party had a delightful time at Everview in the lovely Waynesville area. We attend a conference every year at Lake Junaluska, so we decided to rent a home instead of staying on sight. I'm so glad we did! First, the home is spotless! The housekeeper does such a spectacular job. Every amenity you can think of is available. One gentleman in our group drinks decaf coffee. We found a small coffee maker for that purpose. The large coffee maker served the remainder of our group. We prepared dinner two nights of our stay. The kitchen is very well appointed and we found all we needed. There is a grill on the back porch. The beds are very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. The bathrooms are spacious and very thoughtfully furnished. The view is magnificent from all angles of the house. The gated neighborhood is populated with gorgeous homes. We were very sad to leave and return to normal life! Marilyn is excellent with the communication end of things. She's very attentive to any questions or problems. We've already reserved the home for next year!

Owner Response: Thank you so much for conveying your experience at Everview in such a lovely manner! It's hard to compress all of the amenities and attributes of Everview in the space alloted in a listing site, and I appreciate how you have been able to capture the way it made you feel to stay at our home. Future guests can now read and know the value they will receive as well upon choosing Everview for their mountain vacation. I already have your dates penciled in and will be in touch soon.

My family rented this home for a reunion. It is a beautiful home with great views and a hot tub. The home is EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Other than a few small problems such as sticky screen doors and the air conditioning having a hard time keeping the main living room cool in extreme heat we enjoyed our stay very much. It is in a quiet country setting yet close to the town of Waynesville for restaurants and a visit lovely Lake Junaluska.

Owner Response: Thank you for your feedback of your stay at Everview. Our housekeeper works very hard to keep our home in tip-top shape for our guests. I wanted to provide more detail with regards to the two issues you mentioned. Prior to your arrival, our handyman had gone to our home to take care of a couple of things. One of them was the screen doors as you pointed out. They had to be special ordered, so once they arrive, he will head back to install them. In speaking with your brother on the day of your departure, he mentioned that the air conditioner wasn't cooling too well. We both agreed that it was probably due to the high temperatures during the day. But I contacted our air conditioning repairman anyway. He came out the same day and noticed a very slight leak. It was taken care of and everything is running smoothly now. We strive to maintain Everview in the way our guests would expect immediately upon arrival. However, as with any home, certain routine tasks come up from time to time. But rest assured that they will be addressed immediately and I appreciate it when it is brought to our attention. We hope that you are able to reunite with your family again next year and that Everview is the place you will choose for that occasion.

Owner Response: I appreciate you taking the time to write a review. However, I wanted to point out a couple of things myself. I spoke to you during your stay and not once did you mention a problem with the fireplace. And I'm very grateful that you pointed out that as you were getting ready to leave on check-out day, you noticed a smell of gas outside. The gas company responded in less than an hour and replaced a part that was leaking. This may have caused the issue with the fireplace and it has been corrected. Also, you failed to advise me of the ants in the bathroom. That too, has since been addressed. On just about every e-mail and correspondence I have with my guests, as well as a Guest Information Sheet at our home, I always mention that I can be contacted if anyone has a question or if guests encounter any issues at all during their stay. Had you let me know of these two instances, you can be assured that they would have been immediately remedied. I hope that other than these two issues, you and your friends enjoyed your time at Everview. I understand now that the yard makes for a great sledding site. Hopefully, we'll get to experience some snow the next time we visit in the winter. Take care and we hope to hear from you again in the future.

The master suite was just that, a "suite." The house was meticulous and had everything one would need. It was gracefully decorated and very comfortable. The downstairs was ideal for the grand kids. We went to Asheville for the day, took in The Grove Park Inn, they had their gingerbread houses on display, then went to The Fun Zone, and then went to the agricultural center for their drive through night light show, it was amazing. We spent one day skiing and sledding. We shopped in quaint downtown Waynesville and had lunch (twice) at our favorite restaurant, The Sweet Onion. The older boys loved skate boarding in the driveway. We enjoyed watching the horses in the back and bunnies at dusk. It snowed 2 days before we left and the kids had a grand time playing in the snow. Although it was very cold, the fireplace was toasty warm!! We will definitely stay here again.

Owner Response: Wow! Sounds like you had the ideal family vacation. It makes us happy when we read reviews like yours. This is what are home is best suited for, extended families spending quality time together while enjoying the many area attractions and sites. And glad you were able to experience the snowfall. Perfect. The Sweet Onion is one of our favorite restaurants, too! They have the best French onion soup. Have never had a bad meal there. Please let us know when you're ready for a repeat getaway to Everview.

We rented this property for 4 nights during the Christmas time. It was a reunion with my sister's family from PA, and two nieces from NYC. Its located in a very nice, quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The owner seems very caring and was available anytime to answer any questions. We arrived at night and the access to the location and house was not a problem at all. The house was sparkling clean, very well decorated and very spacious (loved the closet spaces) to fit in two families with kids. This house has all the necessary items one can think of. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise and scenic view from the windows. We had the best relaxed vacation at this house, wish we had more time to extend our stay further. We all were really sad to leave and planned to come back again to enjoy the house and surroundings more. All attractions, grocery stores are close by, we took the kids for tubing which was only 15-20 min drive in Maggie Valley and kids including adults had a blast. We discovered the best coffee shop (Panacea coffee house) in Waynesville downtown area which was also beautiful to walk around. The walk around Lake Janulushka was wonderful as well. Due to extremely cold weather, could not go out on long hiking trips we planned for. Most of the time we stayed home played games, cooked some of our meals, and grilled food outside. Overall, a lovely place to relax and enjoy family away from the usual touristy commercial places. We have already started making plans for our next vacation at this house and will definitely recommend to our other friends and family.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home, it was one of the cleanest homes we have ever stayed in. The king size master bed was so comfortable, I am always concerned whether the mattresses will be good and this one was excellent. My husband and I were there for a romantic getaway but would have been a great house for us to bring our kids and grandchild, there was plenty of room. The only thing I would say is that this is a neighborhood with close neighbors where the picture of the home looks like there is land around the house, this isn't a problem as long as you are aware that this is the case, It was a very quite neighborhood and still had good views.

Owner Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. And yes, there is plenty of room for extended families. Hopefully, we'll hear from you again in the near future.

The site does not show that the house is located in a subdivision, that is there are other houses close by. Despite this, the house was quite and a joy to use. Warm, inviting, and exceptionally well maintained. We highly recommend this house. A bit isolated and difficult to find. Perfect for a family or just two. Truly well maintained, clean, and very comfortable. A bargain at the prices quoted.

Our stay at Everview was excellent. We've rented a few houses in the past and this one was definately the best yet. The house is in a great neighborhood surrounded by beautiful mountains and was extremely quiet and peaceful. The owner had all the necessities available to us (including start up paper products) and the house was the cleanest I've seen in a rental home. The area in and around Waynesville was also beautiful and made for wonderful daytrips to areas such as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smoky Mountains. Without a doubt I would definately stay at Everview again!

Owner Response: Thank you for such a wonderful review. Our housekeeper will be thrilled! We strive to make sure you have everything you need and that you leave with the desire to return again and again. I'm glad we lived up to that standard with you and your family.

The only surprise was that it is in a neighborhood and although it was serene and quiet, there are homes on either side, across the street, and around the spacious backyard. The owner is extremely responsive to requests and questions. We would definitely stay again.

Owner Response: So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at Everview. Most of our guests have appreciated the spaciousness of our home and the opportunity to gaze at our beautiful surroundings. We could not have made a better choice. Everything was in place just as described in the brochure, and all we had to do was show up. Arriving after long drives from 3 different states, my relatives and I were delighted to find the Everview home to be even nicer than the photos. It was easily accessible from I-40 and close enough to downtown Waynesville to allow a leisurely and delicious breakfast at Cafe 50 before the family wedding later in the day. The home is beautifully furnished and has all the appliances you need for a lengthy stay. I especially appreciated the magnifying makeup mirror in the master bath! Two levels of living space are great for large families. The garage door openers allow an easy and quiet move for sleeping babies from the car to the lower level bedrooms. Lush greenery, a few grazing cows and beautiful mountain views surround the quiet property. Though our visit was too short, we were able to tour the Biltmore Estate, only an easy 35 minute drive away. If we find ourselves in this beautiful area again, this is the only place we'll stay!

Owner Response: I'm glad you were able to find the right place for you and your family as you gathered for the wedding. My housekeeper was VERY HAPPY to find our home in such great shape after you left. You are welcome back anytime!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend getaway. The house was exactly as decribed, with wonderful views from the back deck. It was great way for us to get some much needed relaxation by sitting by the fire and watching the snow fall. We found the downtown area of Waynesville quite enjoyable and were still close enough to enjoy a day trip to Asheville to visit the Biltmore house. There are quite an assortment of scenic drives in the area and we recommend visiting many of the waterfalls in Transylvania county. The owner was very prompt in responding to our request that was less than a week away from when we wanted to visit. This is definitely a place that we look forward to returning to, especially with friends and family. The setup of the home is ideal for family members who may have difficulty climbing stairs on inclines in mountainous areas.

Owner Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you had a great time in the mountains and I appreciate for the tip on the waterfalls. I haven't had a chance to visit Transylvania County yet. Hope to hear from you again when you're ready to plan your next trip.

Everything about this property seemed ready made for our stay - plenty of beds, fireplaces, games, lots of outdoor space, and beautiful views. The kitchen was stocked with almost everything we needed to cook a traditional turkey dinner and plenty of room at the table and bar for everyone to sit. All in all, a great reunion at a fantastic property.

Owner Response: Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year to spend with the family. We're glad our home provided you with the location and comfort to create a lasting memory. Hope to hear again from you in the future as a returning guest.

The drive to the house was enjoyable as the roads were excellent and the views were beautiful. The house was amazingly clean and comfortably with great and relaxing views. On our second and third day, we enjoyed snow, then it was sunny and clear for the rest of the time. The house is perfectly located in a great area and within a short driving distance to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Ashville and other great locations, We had a great time!!!

Although there were only two of us renting this house, I would recommend this to families for the ample space. We used the 2 bedrooms upstairs but there were two more downstairs. It's nice that there are two separate living rooms so that people can spread out and not feel on top of each other. The place was very clean. On site laundry is a plus. I originally told Marilyn that I was coming out to this area to get an idea of where I wanted to retire in about 12 years. She went out of her way to tell me that she could help me with any information I needed for the local area. The neighborhood is so nice and quiet. The views are spectacular. Now I understand what people mean when they refer to "pastoral views". You get this type of view and you get views of the mountains. The kitchen is stocked for those that wish to make all their own meals. We actually stumbled upon a great Italian restaurant in Waynesville on Main St. called Pasquale's Pizzeria. The food is fantastic! The house is as pictured-no surprises. Marilyn responded promptly by either answering the phone immediately or responding to a voice mail regarding some minor questions. After the sun goes down when it's relatively quiet, when you do hear sounds they echo quite a bit. So I had to laugh when I heard a dog bark in the distance followed immediately by a cow mooing. When you live near a big city, these peaceful sounds are a nice change of pace. Did the Greyline Trolley tour in Asheville and would recommend it. If you like theatre, go to the Flat Rock Playhouse. Saw Zelda and it was right up there with many Broadway shows I've seen. Take a boat ride on Lake Lure. The lake is gorgeous! Afterward, go to the top of Chimney Rock. Talk about spectacular views! Of course the Blue Ridge Parkway never fails to impress me. All in all, my stay was very enjoyable and this is a property I would stay at again in the future. Lots of house and space for the price.

Owner Response: Thank you for your wonderful review of our home. We agree that it is a splendid location with spectacular views all around. Also, thanks for the tip on the restaurant. We'll be sure to check it out on our next visit.

Great location.fantastic weather and a home away from home that fit all of our needs. We venture out each year via VRBO and we have always had great picks but this was the first time we both stated that we could live in this area and in this home. The home had all the bells and whistles and the location was easy access to Waynesville, the Blueridge Pkwy,Ashville and the Smokies. We spent a good deal of time on the second deck porch enjoying the views and the clear mountain air minus that Florida humidity.Windows open and no AC! Our two retired Cairn terriers loved the deck! This is a large home and we never did get down stairs to really do anything but it would be great for big families and we certainly would return in a heart beat. Two weeks was to short a time frame and a month would be just right. Just a final note on Dean's restaurant at the Shell station on Rt.209, the breakfast 2x4 will fill anyone up.Great chow and friendly people. Thanks Marilyn for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your home.

Owner Response: We are so happy to hear when guests have taken advantage of everything this area of North Carolina has to offer. We're envious, too as we're looking forward to sitting on that deck and enjoying the peacefulness that surrounds it sometime in the near future. And thanks for the tip on Dean's Restaurant. We'll definitely check it out. Hope to hear from you again soon.

We totally enjoyed our week's stay at this beautiful property. The house was immaculate and had all of the amenities to make a great vacation. There is plenty of room for a large group and places for people to congregate. We would switch from the back deck, to the front porch, to the lower deck and enjoyed them all. The view is fabulous and you don't have to drive up a death-defying road to get there. It was so peaceful and relaxing that we hesitated to go on any excursions. We did enjoy Sliding Rock one day and tubing at Bryson City another, but we couldn't wait to get back "home". We ended up cooking most of our meals as the kitchen had everything we needed. We even grilled out a couple of times. However, there are some great restaurants close by if one does not want to cook. Our dog, Kaylee, loved the property as well. We enjoyed watching the cows and horses off in the distance too! We were very pleased to find such a lovely home that allowed dogs. If you do decide to rent this house, you won't regret it. However, if you have a dog, take care of the place like your own because Kaylee and and the rest of us want to go back soon!

My husband, Andy, and I, along with 2 other couples came for an extended weekend April 27-30th. It was absolutely perfect. The neighborhood was pristine, the neighbors were kind, and views were exceptional. I truly would not change a thing. We adored the house and there was plenty of space for all 6 adults and 1 baby, there was even one bedroom to spare. The house was immaculate, with tons of windows to take in the stunning views from both the front and back of the house. We read, grilled, and ate dinner on the large back porch everyday and enjoyed wine and cheese on rocking chairs on the front porch one afternoon. It was such a lovely and comforting stay, even the weather cooperated perfectly for our weekend getaway. The house is close enough to town that it isn't a hassle at all to run to the store and go visit nearby shops and hiking trails, yet it is far enough removed that you can't hear a single sound of traffic or see any signs/buildings from the neighborhood. I simply CANNOT wait to return again a.s.a.p.!

Owner Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the time away from work and studying. Our doors are always open to you and your family.
